Hindu Nair Marriage Site
Hindu Nair matrimony, otherwise called Nayar, are a gathering of Indian positions, depicted by anthropologist Kathleen Gough as "not a unitary gathering but rather a named class of stations". Hindu Nair matrimonial incorporate a few positions and numerous subdivisions, not every one of whom truly bore the name 'Nair'. These individuals lived, and keep on living, in the territory which is currently the Indian province of Kerala. Their inside position practices and frameworks are notably unique between the general population in the northern and southern segments of the territory, despite the fact that there isn't particularly dependable data on those occupying the north. Truly, Nairs brides and grooms lived in substantial families called tharavads that housed relatives of one basic female progenitor. These families alongside their irregular marriage traditions, which are never again drilled, have been highly considered. In spite of the fact that the detail shifted starting with one district then onto the next, the fundamental purposes important to scientists of Nair marriage traditions were the presence of two specific ceremonies—the pre-pubertal thalikettu kalyanam and the later sambandam—and the act of polygamy in a few regions. Some Nair ladies likewise rehearsed hypergamy with Nambudiri Brahmins from the Malabar district. Hindu Nair matrimony were generally engaged with military clashes in the area. Following threats between the Nair and the British in 1809, the British constrained Nair support in the British Indian Army. The serpent is revered by Nair brides and grooms families as a gatekeeper of the faction. The love of snakes, a Dravidian custom, is so pervasive in the territory that one anthropologist notes: "In no piece of the world is wind love more broad than in Kerala." Serpent forests were found in the southwestern corner of almost every Nair matrimonial service.
